NAPM is a trade association that provides
influence and direction of postal policy and procedures, to help our members
sustain and grow their businesses.
Who we are
Established in June of 1984, the National Association of
Presort Mailers (NAPM) is an association of firms concerned with postal programs, especially worksharing and discounts for presorted, automated mail.
Representing a significant percentage of the presort mailing
industry, the NAPM is currently comprised of over 90 corporate members operating
over 140 businesses in 36 states.
Our members are early adopters and leading
edge service providers of latest Postal Service products and innovations. Our
member businesses are also industry adaptors, as the mail customers' needs have
changed so too have our member companies so that today they also do marketing,
data management, printing, list mailings, and combined/commingled mailings of all classes
and categories (First Class Flats, Periodicals, Standard Letters and Flats, and
Package or Priority Services). We also have vendor members that provide
mailing technology and equipment solutions to mail users throughout the world.
Our members interact with thousands of postal customers,
advising them on mailing benefits and standards, and provide services that
facilitate consumer business mailings. NAPM members have knowledge and
experience, which qualifies them as specialists in performing mail-processing
services that provide mail users with cost effective optimal delivery service
mailing solutions to communicate with their customers.
What we do
The NAPM plays a significant role in representing the
interest of our membership to the executive management of the US Postal
Service, the Postal Regulatory Commission and appropriate members of Congress.
We do this through direct interaction, written filings and communications, and
collaboration with other industry associations and advocates. The major objectives
of the NAPM are to:
- Strengthen relations between the US Postal Service and the mailing industry.
- Advocate on behalf of our members regarding legislative, regulatory, or Postal policies and regulations affecting the mailing industry.
- Develop and improve USPS worksharing programs to produce cost savings and services that benefits presort mailers and the USPS.
- Promote professional and ethical business practices among members.
- Provide a forum for education and member networking on latest industry trends and regulations.
- Provide information and services that help our members enhance and grow their business.
The NAPM differentiates itself from other
associations because we don't do things for you; we do things with you. Together,
we do things to protect your business interest and improve the mailing
industry. This is our true differentiator, NAPM doesn't want to make decisions
and representations based on what we "think” is best for you, but what "we
collectively” think is best for not only your business but everyone using mail
as an important part of their business.
You can contact NAPM by phone, email or the online form available on this web site (click on "Contact Us" on the bar at the bottom of the page).
